Mother's Day Picnic

For Mother's Day, it was a gorgeous day. We decided to go out to the Fosnick's property on Clear Lake. The lake was beautiful. We had a picnic, went for a walk on the trail around the lake, and played at the park.

I tried to get a picture of Cam for her 4th birthday invite. Here's what happened:
Started out well...

Then she went in for the dig. I WAS asking her to stop, yet I had to continue snapping shots.

And then... What started out not so bad ended tragically.

After our trip to the lake, we went to Brian's parents for a BBQ.
Here's the first of many golf lessons from daddy.

Way to watch the ball on your follow through!

Emme is our animal lover. She could spend forever in a pet store, wants to pet every dog, and genuinely loves anything with 4 legs & fur. Brian's parents have animal statues in their yard. Em gave them all kisses throughout the day.

Emme's 2nd Birthday

It's hard to believe how quickly the past 2 years have gone. We celebrated Emme's 2nd birthday with family and friends. With so much going on, we just decided to have a party at our house. The kids had fun playing together, and Em enjoyed herself.

She got a Cinderella dress, and was so happy to be putting it on!

Emerson, you are such a wonderful part of our lives! You are the most fun loving and free-spirited child I've ever met. You can't take anything seriously, and make us laugh whenever we try to discipline you! You love to dance, sing, play with your baby, and snuggle (especially with "bunny & paci"). You can be gentle and calm, and wild & crazy. I love how you say "hobe it" instead of "hold it." I love the way you run words together ("mommy daddy mommy Cami daddy") when you can't think of what to say. I love the way you "shake your booty." I love the way you look up to your sister and always want to be with her. I love the way you laugh at anything, and I love how much you seem to enjoy life. You make us want to enjoy and see the world as you do. I love being your mom, and couldn't imagine my life without you. I love you Emme Girl!! Happy 2nd Birthday!! Love, Mommy

Shaughnessy's Baptism

Our neice, Shaughnessy, got baptized at All Saints. We celebrated afterward with dinner at Grandma Pat & Papa Jim's house.

Trip to the Zoo

We love our zoo membership & try to go at least once a month. This time the girls & I went with Grandma Cindy. First we had to check out Cam's favorite- the tiger. Then we walked all around and saw all of the other animals. Today's adventure was topped off with a ride on the merry-go-round and a visit from the peacock with her (or is that the boy) feathers open. For some reason I can't find those pictures. I'll have to upload those when/if I do.

We got to see some animals up close & personally. This was a lizard. The girls loved talking to the zookeeper and asking questions.I love the elephants

The Spring Fair/ Grandma Cindy Visits

Grandma Cindy came up to visit. It just so happened that the Spring Fair was also going on. We went down to have some scones, check out some animals, and let Cam go on her first ride. We had always avoided the ride area knowing that once we started it wouldn't ever end. She was soooo excited! She got her "ride ticket" and picked out the scooter ride. Of course she had to ride on the pink car!!
Cam with her ride ticket. They don't even use real "tickets" anymore- it's a card they scan. Things have gotten all fancy at the fair (well, some things).

Like a princess riding around.

Loving it!!

During Grandma's visit we decided to make some ooblek. It's cornstarch & a little bit of water. It makes a substance that is like a solid & a liquid all in one. The girls loved playing with it. It made a HUGE mess, but it was easy to clean.

Emme loves Grandma...and her piggy rides!

Showing Grandma how to play dress up - the more clothes, the better!!

Emme has yet to put on 2 matching shoes by choice. Today she needed 2 different ballet slippers and "clip clop shoes" (high heels). Notice just the arms of the leotard are in.

Planting Our Garden April 2010

We tried to get a head start on our garden this year and actually plant from seed. We planted tomatoes, peppers, & basil and then placed them in our bathroom where they would get sun and it would stay somewhat warm. Only problem was that the sun didn't come out for weeks. They are still growing, but a little small. We'll see if we get any fruit.

Dirt Girl Emme
She loves to play in the dirt. She was a big "help."
Cam helping me to place the seeds in each section.

Emme saw we made a mess with the dirt and ran inside quickly.
Sure enough she went to get the vacuum.

She tried so hard to vacuum up our mess.

Ben & Brian's Birthdays

We like to head down to Portland as much as we can to visit my family. One of the things that the girls love most about our trip (other than seeing Grandma & cousins), is Lilly's rocking horse. Lilly got this horse a couple of years ago. She loved it from day one and wasn't ever afraid to rock as fast as she can. She can ride it like nothing else- she might have a future in the rodeo. Cam & Emme were both a little timid the first few times they got on, but now they both love getting a chance to try to ride like Lilly. It's the first toy they go to when we pull up at the Augustyn's!
Happy 1st Birthday Baby Ben!! On April 9th Ben turned one. We had fun celebrating with the Augustyns. Of course, Ben got the famous banana cake. He loved it!!

He put a nice dent into it!

And he didn't stop!!

Emme loved the cake, too!!

But she wouldn't share with Great Grandma!!

We celebrated Brian's birthday with his parents. He didn't get a banana cake, but he got an Oreo cheesecake- just as good!!
